At Our Core, We’re About Coffee, Community & Connection
COALESCENCE IS A NONPROFIT COFFEE COMPANY
We’re dedicated to offering genuine hospitality each day in welcoming, creative spaces where neighbors and customers can meet, connect, and grow—whether it’s over a cup of coffee, at a community event, or in shared spaces designed for collaboration.
OUR VISION
Our vision is to create inviting, multi-use spaces where people from diverse backgrounds and experiences can coalesce—over coffee, through events, or shared interests. By encouraging conversation, collaboration, and connection, we aim to reduce loneliness, to strengthen community and to create a sense of belonging.

Our Founders
COALESCENCE COFEE COMPANY was born out of the idea of using coffee and hospitality to bridge the gap between increasingly divided and lonely individuals. Community around coffee is an ancient tradition that we believe is worth preserving. The connection built over a table together goes beyond the cup. Our aim is to inspire diverse people to coalesce through creating vibrant, inclusive community gathering spaces where individuals and organizations can come together to share ideas, build connections, and make a positive impact on our neighborhood and beyond. We believe Coalescence is not only a place, but an action.
Norfolk, Virginia
Founded by closely-knit family and friends in Norfolk, VA, Co-Founders Chris & Jenny Brooks and Nic & Briana Lombardi always had one vision in mind, to create spaces where people are welcomed, valued, and belong.
Locally, we do this by hosting groups like the Commoners Table writer group, offering affordable rental spaces and coffee classes from our Coffee expert and educator Chris Brooks, promoting small business, and ensuring hospitality and excellence in service with every encounter.
Rwanda Partners
Internationally, we launched Coalescence Rwanda Hotel & Café, a true collaboration and extension of our vision to connect communities through coffee and hospitality. Through this effort, our partners Bonnie and Solange empower the lives of their staff and continue to invest in reconciliation for their community.
