We offer 3 unique spaces: the Community Room, Rwanda Room, and Café!
You can pair the Community Room with the Rwanda Room or the Café with the Community Room by lifting the shared garage door, or choose to rent the Whole Shop!
All rescheduling is subject to availability. Clients may reschedule their event one time at no cost with at least 90 days’ notice. Any additional changes or rescheduling within 90 days of the event date will result in a fee of 25% of the total rental fee.
Cancellations made with less than 14 days’ notice will not be refunded, unless due to Force Majeure such as: natural disasters, acts of war, government restrictions, acts of God, or a family death. This policy ensures fairness and availability for all clients. Thank you for your cooperation.
Events must conclude by 10PM to comply with city ordinances. However, break-down/load-out time can extend past 10PM.
11 spots in the lot behind the building (W. 25th Street). We recommend these for the day-of POC and anyone who is helping set up for the event. For all other guests, free street parking is available.
Yes! Seafood and other strong smelling foods are prohibited. Coffee/hot tea must be purchased from Coalescence. Check out our Catering Menu!
Step 1: Pay your rental deposit + sign the Contract sent from Coalescence’s Hospitality & Event Manager.
Step 2: Obtain a 1-day banquet license through VAABC. VAABC requires proof of a signed contract in order to submit the application.
Step 3: Provide the Hospitality & Event Manager with a copy of the license.
Step 4a: Bring your own alcohol and self-serve

Step 4b: Bring your own alcohol and hire a Coalescence bartender at $40/bartender/hour. The number of bartenders required depends on guest count. A minimum of 2 hours is required for all services + 30 min setup and 30 min breakdown. A detailed menu and ingredient list is due to the Hospitality & Event Manager no later than 2 weeks prior to your event date.
Note: No alcohol may be brought onto the premises without a Banquet License from VAABC. Any event that brings alcohol without proper licensing will be immediately ended with no refunds provided. The state of VA doesn’t allow cash bars without a license.
We aim to keep things simple and generous. Your rental includes tables, chairs, a white board/dry-erase board, microphone, and column speaker—no extra fees for the basics.

We don’t believe in charging for every detail. If something helps you feel prepared and at ease, we’re glad to include it if it’s available.
Yes, for an added cost, we offer barista services for your events, including hand-poured coffees and espresso beverages! Choose between our two service options: the Standard Barista Service, which includes a selection of coffee and espresso beverages, or the Premium Barista Service, which features our seasonal signature drink menu and hand-poured coffees. Choose between a hosted bar, where you open a tab to cover your guests’ drinks (requires leaving a card on file) or a cash bar, where guests purchase their own drinks. Let us elevate your event and impress your guests with exceptional coffee service!
Come visit anytime during regular business hours: Mon-Sat 7AM-5PM! There is no designated host on site to lead an impromptu tour, although you may schedule a tour with our Event Manager. If you have more questions, please see our AI chat bot or submit an inquiry and we will happily respond!
