Why Rwanda?
Rwanda exemplifies the power of community and reconciliation, making remarkable strides in recovery and growth since the 1994 genocide. Yet there is still a pressing need to invest in community to ensure sustainable development and healing. Strengthening community ties and creating spaces for collaboration can help address these issues by fostering trust, solidarity, and mutual support. Community building also plays a key role in bridging generational divides, healing past trauma, and empowering individuals to take an active role in shaping their own futures. By focusing on community-driven solutions, Rwanda can nurture resilience, promote social cohesion, and create environments where people can work together to overcome adversity and build a more prosperous and inclusive society.
Bonnie & Sola
Our partners, Bonnie and his wife Sola, are dedicated to uplifting their community through various initiatives. Recognizing the need for a sustainable way to continue their impactful work, we helped Bonnie and Sola create Coalescence Hotel and Café—a modern twist on the bed-and-breakfast experience. This project not only provides jobs but also serves as a gathering place for the local community. We invite you to join us in supporting Bonnie’s mission and help us spread the message of unity and community empowerment.
Donate
Donating to Coalescence Rwanda is a powerful way to support the dedicated staff who bring the vision of the shop to life. These workers, many of whom come from marginalized communities, rely on the shop not only for employment but also for opportunities to learn new skills, build confidence, and improve their quality of life. Your donation helps provide fair wages, job security, and training programs that empower the staff to grow both personally and professionally. It also contributes to a healthy, supportive work environment where staff members can thrive and make a lasting impact on the community. By giving, you’re directly investing in the well-being of the people behind the counter, allowing them to continue serving locally-sourced coffee while fostering economic stability and social change in the region.
